Is it the time to say farewell? I
can't believe the course is about to finish, no more discussions, no more
overloaded Mondays, no longer blogs or assignments. Sure, I will miss these
days and my colleagues a lot. This short week started by readings about multiple
intelligences and learning styles and how using technology can help meet
different learning styles. Although the topic is interesting and important, I
found that the readings for this week didn't cover the topic thoroughly and
there were many broken links in the first article. The discussion was
interesting as usual and I learned from my colleagues' experiences and
suggestions. In fact, LS and MI were my topics of interest years ago and I searched
and read many articles and models. However, I found it was difficult to apply
some techniques to meet all students' learning styles for many reasons. The
large number of students in the class was the main obstacle, sometimes the difficulty
to use technology or to find traditional activities that match all learning
styles.
Finally, I finished the plan and
tried to be detailed and specific. I hope to accomplish it as soon as possible
and I wish I can inform you with the results but I don't know how? The
evaluation of the course was an excellent chance to assess not only the course
and its materials but also our participation and learning. One of the
suggestions I gave was the importance of conducting follow-up workshops and
seminars for the course participants whether this class or past and future
classes. I think we have to meet regularly and discuss the improvements we have
achieved. It was my first time to know eteacher
ning and I think this social network will serve the purpose of continual
professional development where most UO courses' participants can meet and share
their experiences. Unfortunately, my approval is pending and I don't know why. I
advise my colleagues to join eteacher and keep in touch after the course.
A letter of thanks is due to the
UO committee for such high quality courses. Special thanks for Donna, the role
model for encouragement, commitment and dedication. Love and appreciation for
my colleagues for their excellent participation, valuable time and supportive
feedback and without you the course won't be successful and enjoyable.
Greetings,
Amira
Hi,Amira
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you on all that you commented.I hope we'll all keep in touch.I've not done the evaluation yet,but as you said, this week was the lightest regarding assignments.I think it's because of our projects. The Mi,Ls &Tech Tools were interesting too.Did you do the quiz? All the best in your project.Karima
Dear Amira,
ReplyDeleteI guess we've been in the same wavelength. I agree with you in what concerns this week's readings and as to a follow-up of this amazing course - I also suggested that in my blog entry though I wasn't so precise.
I wouuldlove to have your final plan and obviously to know your results and that's wahy I would suggest a googledoc where we could insert our data for future contacts. I can do it myself, no problem, but I guess Donna is the only one who has all our emails. In any case, I can do it and share it with Donna - but maybe our instructor is already used to these situations and alread has one done :) Just an idea...
You've been fantastic - as a colleague and as a person, Amira, and I'm very pleased that our paths have crossed.
Keep in touch. Best greetings,
Alex
wow Amira,
DeleteTo be honest I still have to work more on my final plan draft.Congratulations to you ! It is very sad to finish up. You have a wonderful role model. Please reply to me if you can. :>) Tseeggie go on to catch up.
dear Amira,
ReplyDeletewell, I will miss my course friends and the constant tons of knowledge and actions that were around me during this last 9 (10) weeks, but the rush and nervous and sometimes sleepless nights in order to fulfill the assignments up to the deadlines is something I really wont miss. What I have been thinking about is an idea of some more relaxed course, based on more flexible participation and more extended deadlines , but, the rules are , sometimes, strict and we shouldn't broke them.
This week topic was especially interesting to me because I actually found out one more intelligence I posses,by doing the quiz on http://www.edutopia.org/multiple-intelligences-learning-styles-quiz, have you tried this one ?
My project is done, and uploaded .... hopefully it will be fine and understandable to the evaluators.
I especially like your part about our Donna. She is really wonderful and encourage moderator and , that for sure, very admired and helpful colleague and teacher.
greetings from Serbia
